CMOS Sensor Arrays
We have developed and patented a complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) sensor array technology that allows us to coat a CMOS sensor with a photoconductive layer. As a result, we do not have to make the compromises needed in conventional CMOS sensors between allocation of space on the chip to pixels and to the readout circuitry. We are developing visible and broad-spectrum applications of this technology through our e-Phocus subsidiary.
We have also developed proprietary technology in the use of porous silicon as both capture mechanism and transducer in an optical biosensor. Our Silicon Kinetics subsidiary is building instruments and related biochips using this technology.
